The best all round bullet to use in the 300 Win Mag, in the GSC range, is the 160gr HV bullet.

It works from the muzzle to as far as you would care to shoot. Just ensure that the impact speed is more than 1600fps. The bullet should give a double caliber mushroom from that speed up.

Hi Gerard. I will certainly try these 160gr. I re-did the die set as you mentioned with the tape on the back. Guess what! All signs of pressure and blowing up cases has disappeared. I just did 12 rounds at different loads to check. Have now reloaded some more with some of the old bullets and will check again this weekend.
