Fired off 3 x three shot groups of 232 grain Norma Vulcan projectiles in my 9.3x62.

All were seated to the base of the neck making a very short round.

61 grains 2208 1.630" two hole group 2,627fps
62 grains 2208 2.030" One shot pulled and called 2,667fps
63 grains 2208 1.580" Triangular group Velocity N/K

Primers were in no way flattened in my rifle but recoil was ... mmmm ... Stout. My sample does not give a true indication of velocity but does give a rough idea of their speed.

I will try some different seating depths next. 63 grains is approaching 100% load density and requires a few taps to settle the powder. RE-15 maybe also be an option.

I found the OAL just off the lands was 80.5mm. Not far off Normas recommended 80mm.

Re-15 is rated as slower than 2208 and in the 9.3x62 it is, but only marginally. I loaded 63 grains of RE-15 and found I could get more RE-15 in the case than 2208.

With a gusting head wind and dark skys threatening imminent rain I headed out to the range with the Chronograph, again.

Average velocity was 2,616 fps and a vertical stringing three shot group went into 1.830" with two holes close. Not bad as by #4 Reticle has vertical and horizontal cross hairs that cover 2" at 100 yards.

SD of this projectile is 0.249 and the BC is 0.267. It has the aerodynamics of a brick. I will load some more in a week or two and try 64 and 65 grains, then longer distances. 200 and 300 yards.

I love the point on these conventional constructed Vulcans. The tip is inverted and the jacket wall is thinner at the front.
