I could suggest some bullets if you were to tell us what you are going to be using for. I have deer loads, big deer loads, and varmint loads. My loads are written down at home but I have been getting sub moa with these bullets. 100 gr. partition, 100gr. XLC BT, and really tight groups with 75gr. V-max. Bullets that didnt work for me were 115gr. Partitions, 100gr. X BT, and 115 gr. Silvertips. None of this will mean much because your rifle will have it's own tastes but I can tell you that those 100gr. Partitions drop deer in their tracks. I shot a small deer at close range with the Silvertips and they didnt blow apart. That may not allways be the case though. I'm going to give A-frames a try this year.

Ray, I saw your post and all I have is a great small critter load. It works well and you can cover five shot groups with less than a dime out to 200 yards. I shoot the Ruger NO. 1-V and it would not group most other loads; was about to trade her off before finding this combination. N/S a fired case. 75 gr. Hornady V-max 60 gr. RL 19 powder CCI L/R primer Reduce the powder charge to about 54 gr. and work up at 2gr. intervals until you get a tight group. Rugers seem to have a longer throat these days so you many have to play around with the seating depths. That more than anything could be the trick. This load is hot but not unsafe. However, each gun is different and every can of powder is different, so be warned to back it off each time you buy new powder. I have shot up about 60 lbs of different powders and ran into this just once. It was Blue Dot and it is quite hot. I cant load table max with it or it will blow primers, swell cases and lock up cylinders on my strong Ruger hand guns. Watch what you find on the Internet. People post when they are tired or work from memory, which is not always good.

Here is a link of a great discussion on 25/06 loads that I came up with (also in my favorite loads section if you do a search). Have fun http://www.accuratereloading.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB25&Number=421844&Forum=f25&Words=25%2F06&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Main=421825&Search=true&where=bodysub&Name=&daterange=0&newerval=&newertype=&olderval=&oldertype=&bodyprev=#Post421844 I love my 25/06. It handle the mid wieght bullets better than the heavy ones. I usaully use mag primers. Hcliff

Well, while folks on this forum will be glad to help you with loads, be sure to look at several reloading manuals for reference. Having said that, I will list some 25-06 loads that work well for me. They may not be worth a hoot in your gun. I am not sure what you intend to shoot with the 25-06 so I will list three different bullet weights. These loads are perfecly safe in my rifle, just start low and work up to them carefully. Remington case Federal 210 primer 57 grains IMR 4831 Hornady 75 grain V-Max velocity 3570 fps Remington case Federal 210 primer 54 grains IMR 4831 Nosler 100 grain Partition velocity 3400 fps Winchester case Federal 215M primer 54 grains IMR 7828 Nosler 115 grain Ballistic Tip velocity 3150 fps These loads are very accurate in my custom 25-06 that is built on a Remington 700 action and wears a 24 inch Lilja chrome moly barrel. Have fun, but again, work up from a few grains below these loads. R F

All my 25/06 loads are pretty much out of the book as far as bullet/powder and charge. I usually use whatever brass or primers I have handy and have had great success. My A-bolt is not finicky at all. Even the bullets I've decided to pass on after testin have got me 2" groups which is still better that factory ammo usually. Sometimes I tinker a bit from summer to winter conditions to get the right pressure. The worse bullet for me by far was the 115 Silver tip though. Pie plate size groups was best I could do.

I have a 25-06 rem 700 mtn rifle that seems to shoot everything well. For me all the way from 85 grains to 120 grains the most consitant powder was I4831. Excellent near book velocity and sub MOA. Just follow the books with I4831 and I think you'll get great results.
