I noticed remington makes 3 levels of ammo for the 300rum,30-06 power,300wm power & super sonic power,what kind of powder and charges will get me to the 300wm/300wby. level?I would also like to just try the 30-06 level for kicks...someone has to be a expert on this cartridge.....Will H4831 be a good powder to start with?I will be using 180gr,200gr.,220gr.nosler bullets...

only with minimum charges. you may want to look at the 4350s or even 4064 for slower speeds.

Just responded to your PM.

My take on this round is this, use it for what it is capable of. I wouldn't bother with trying to slow it down myself.

I use a 200 grain Accubond with 89-91 grains of Re25. I will be loading the Berger VLD 185 with Retumbo. Also trying the Barnes TTSX in 168 and 180 with H1000, Retumbo, and Re25, as well as the 180 Accubond.

Another powder that is cheap and worth trying is WC872. It is a pull down powder and roughly $80 for 8 pounds shipped.
