62.0 grs. of the old original H-4831 (then just called "4350-data powder"), 130 gr. Hornady Spire Point, Winchester 8-1/2-120 primer, W-W brass...chrono average for 5 rounds, 3,185 fps.

That load will also shoot very accurately from my pre-'64 Win M-70 FW...have gotten groups of 1-1/4" at 200 yards with it. Average is probably just under 1 MOA though...

Killed 6 elk with that rifle on a "control" shoot using 150 gr. Nosler Partition bullets, but do not consider it always fully up to the task, so won't take it again.

Ditto Vapodog, with some bullets it may take 61.0grs of RL-22 to get to 3100fps. When you get to 3100 its probably time to stop.......DJ

60grs. of H4831 gets me 3075 fps with a 130 out of a 22" stainless barrel model 700 and the same load gets just under 3100fps with a 22" barrelled 50 year old featherweight model 70.
