Maybe one of you oldtimers could give me some info., on Star Reloaders. Might have a chance on getting one in good condition. As I understand it their similar to a Dillon press, only better quality. Also that their pretty much caliber specific, and not easily changed from one to another. Basicaly used for reloading pistol amunition. Haven't seen it yet, and I'm completely unfamiliar with it. A couple of them were included in a bunch of stuff donated to our gun club. Searching online, I could only find one, and this guy wanted $900 for it as a collectors item. Have any of you actually used one? If so are they any good? What would a fair price be for one in complete and usable condition? And do they use standard dies? Phil

There is one for sale in gun list, mint condition, for $750 with 2 turret heads, which each head costs nearly as much as the reloader. No, they do not use standard dies. You must have a new head for each caliber.

I have been using a Star machine for about 32 years. They are the BEST progressive loading machine bar none. If you have extra "heads" in other calibers it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to chance calibers. They were/are real popular with Bullseye Pistol Shooters.
