Just bought the new Handloader Digest 18th Edition.

Save your money, it's total junk, and a great disappointment.

Having bought all previous 17 editions, I had great expectations because all the prior editions are a great research resource, and it's been 3 or 4 years since the last edition.

What wrong with edition 18?

Well to start with, Edition 17 is 478 pages long, Edition 18 is 254 pages. What did they cut out?

The number of articles was cut in half, they deleted or omitted the entire Component Section. Nothing on Powders, primers, Cases, Bullets Custom, Bullets Commercial.

These were among my favorite sections.

In short, run if not walk away from this ripoff.

Even better tell Krause Publications www.krause.com

Regards,

Bob

Thanks for the heads-up. I was looking for the new edition. I'll invest in some more components, instead.

i also have the whole set of handloaders digest. an bought the 18th ed. its an oversize magazine or an undersized book. ever since krause took over gun digest the quality of content and amount of content went down on all the gun digest books. the gun magazines arn't doing so good either wish my brother-in-law hadn't throwned out the gun magazines of the late 60's and early 70's i gave for him to keep when i enlisted in the navy!!!

Just shows how tough its been since Elmer, Skeeter, Charlie Askins, Bob Milek and Kent Bellah all left us. About a close as you can come is Ross Seyfreid, Dave Scovill and Phil Shoemaker, but you will have to get Rifle and Handloader to find them regularly.
