I'm doing a lot of loading for the 45 auto lately and Unique, because of its flake form, doesn't always meter as nicely as some of the rifle ball powders I have. Is anything in the Unique range of burning speed come in a ball form??

You might look at some of the Accurate powders & see if something is close.

Winchester 231 for the lighter loads, Hogden HS6 about duplicates Unique. Both meter very well.

I use AA #2 (actually, the surplus equivalent from Jeff Bartlett) in my .45s. AA #5 is often recommended, but for loads up to the standard "hardball" level #2 works fine, and with a smaller charge. I see Bartlett no longer has the "#102" listed.

Looks like Longshot, by Hodgdon is a good bet for overall performance.

WW 231, meters better than unique and burns cleaner.

I also use AA #2 for my 45ACP loads, as well as 38 Special and 44 Mag.

Winchester Super Target will do you right. Fairly bulky, too, so the the chances of double charge are less.
