Their Web site is down. Hope they are still in business.

I spent July in Seattle and Portland area. I wrote them two or three times that I wish to visit them and buy some bullets there too. I didn't get any response.

Jiri, hope you had a good time in our Pacific Northwest.
On a separate note, Ed LaPour's site is down, too.

A month ago I phoned them every day for a week. No one ever answered the phone and message box was full. ( I asked about it here on AR but got no response.)
John from NF phoned me back the next week but I told him that I had switched to CEB.

The NF bullets that I used were the best for heavy plains game and cape buffalo. Brian

Their site is back up now. I have no idea what the issue was. Have used their bullets on two trips to Africa and hope to do so again.

Hello All,

We are still in business. Last Monday we had a major server failure that took out our website and email. We are all back on-line after 4 days of rebuilding.

Sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused anyone of you.

Computers don't always make one's life easier.

John,

Thank goodness it was just a technology glitch; you had some of us pretty nervous. You make a stellar product!

Don't tell me your email was down for a month or so. I wrote at info@northforkbullets.com on July 6th and 12th.

John, As far as I am concerned something just doesn't wash here. I have supported your excellent product for a long time. But this interupted service doesn't work for me. Expensive bullets should include good service. Brian

I hope NF can survive without Brian's support.

I do not see where the CEB shares much with the excellent NF bullets other than the fact that they are both round and pointed (sort-of) on one end.

Do we need to do a fund raiser for NF...?

I have used both CEB and NF and really like them both. CEB provides good service and I appreciate that.

Hi All,

I wanted to clear up some things, but I am not one to throw a rock in a glass house.

Jiri - I am sorry we missed you. With your gmail account, it goes into a special folder as we get so much junk mail from gmail accounts, we have to sort through it all once a day and we must have accidentally missed your email. To make up for it, we can give you free shipping if you would like to place an order.

Brian - The expense of our bullets is due to the requirements of our two countries. Living in a socialistic state and one that does not have a kind eye towards the gun industry does not make it easy to get them into the country. Plus the added expense of shipping and licensing for exports drives the cost up significantly. We have two voicemail messages from you during that time and there are many hangups with no messages. The tone you were hearing was because you called the fax number as our voicemail does not fill up. Be that as it may, I am sorry we lost your business and did not get back to you in the speed you required. We get a large amount of calls a day along with over 100 emails a day and I can only answer so many otherwise we could not produce any product. It is a balancing act and my ability to instantly reply is limited without interruption to our production. Email is by far the best way to reach us. Either way, I would never tell you where you should spend your money, and if CEB gives you what you need and want, then you have found your solution. I can only tell you that we try to serve everyone equally without any preferential treatment.

Our bullets are expensive if you compare to Speer, Hornady, Nosler, etc., but we believe you get more for your monies with our product that is designed by engineers who are also heavily involved in hunting. We don't play in B.C. or long range shooting, we just try to make the best hunting bullet we know how.

The funny thing is, we still have original TBBC bullets here, and ours are still cheaper now than what one could by back in 1990s, even though cost of material is 300% higher along with wages. We have not increase our prices in 3 years while the cost to produce the bullets are always going up. We like to hunt and we want more people to get into the market of reloading and hunting, and we really try to take this into account. But we are hear to make money and we are not a charity.

Idaho Sharpshooter - While the fund raise in interesting, I would never take money for nothing. Just pass the word and have those that can afford our bullets purchase them and make their own conclusion as to their claims and effectiveness.

I think my glass house is starting to crack.

Regards,
John

Brian............ for North Fork bullets you can contact this company that specializes in exporting out of the US.

http://blog.reloadinginternational.com/

I have used them a couple of times and they really know what they are doing.

You can also buy them from Prophet River Firearms in Lloydminster here:

John....... while Canada certainly has some legislation that stinks, the legislation that causes all the problems for importing reload components, firearms and ammo is all US legislation. Knee jerk PC legislation that got rammed down everyones throats whether we wanted it or not. Canada's part in it was that our government at the time was asked if they wanted some exemptions, but it was a liberal government at the time, and not being firearms friendly, they declined. But the simple fact is that the crap legislation requiring expensive export permits, import permits was thanks to the bureaucracies south of the 49th.

John,

the pledge drive has already topped $90,000 USD as of noon MST.

Since you do not want it, is it okay if I keep it and just buy a couple DR's from Butch and go hunt Africa for a month or six weeks...?

beer

thanks,

Rich

The cup point is he best DG bullet Ive used and I have used it for years..I did the tests on Buffalo for the original owner..shot a lot of buff with them in a lot of calibers.. They expand enough and penetrate enough, not many bullets can claim that..They are awesome killers of DG and plainsgame for that matter..I even used them on elk and deer and I really like them for that, they killed well and meat damage was minimal and blood trails plain as day..You can't beat them. I met one of the new owners one time some years ago for about 5 minutes at SCO, so Im not pimping for them, just praising a great product based on real world experience. My supply of them has dwindled so I sure hope all is well with them. That said I won't be using them as much as my African days have pretty well come to a close, and Im good with that, but maybe one more buff is in the pot, who knows. I bet they would be a good bullet in a .338 on elk..Never used them in that small a caliber but did use them in a 9.3x62 I think..
