FYI After six straight days of really hard use my viratory tumbler seemed to be getting louder and louder. After supper to-night It was disassembled and sure nough the four nuts that hold the motor to the base were dead loose and the damping pads needed attension. A half hour of cleaning and repair and the noise was almost entirely gone. Creeps up on you if you aren't paying attension. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Is it possible to use split washers under the nuts or replace the nuts with a self locking type? To prevent loosening in the future.

Don't see why not. I think I'd use the lock nuts instead of lock washers myself. Some of the parts are plastic and I can get heavy handed. But like bartsche found out, it pays to look things over every once in a while. When mine started making noise, it was the vibrator pads that had migrated.

This is a good idea but not against plastic, which will pressure set. But if you also use fender washers in conjunction with the lock washers to distribute the force against the plastic you might have a winner. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!!
