I just talked to the manufacturer of my suppressor, George Vais, and he cautioned me about the use of these bullets while shooting a suppressor or a muzzle brake. He indicated that he has had two suppressors come back to him after the Amax bullets deflected around in the suppressor and took out many of the baffles. He also thought that some of the cause of this was very high velocity and sometimes a bullet jump from the case to the riflings that resulted in a loose fragment on the bullet jacket that would later contact the suppressor or muzzle brake upon exiting the barrel. He also indicated that he has heard of some recent high velocity Amax from other calibers disintegrating around 200 yards. I have some Amax bullets that I had planned on shooting but will not due so through the suppressor. Anyone else with experience on the Amax breaking up??????? | ||
