Well, what do you think about this bullet @ about 2600 fps? I scored a s**tload of thes for real cheap, and would like to use them. Probly nothing bigger than Texas whitetail, and feral hogs. Thanks, Mike

Mike, 175 gr.'s in a 7x57 will kill anything in Texas. I shoot the S&B 173 gr. loads in mine and over the past couple of years it has accounted for pigs, Dall sheep, Axis, Sika and Whitetail. I get about 2470 FPS with the factory loads and they have really worked well for me. I'm currently working on loads with the 154 gr. Hornady, up to 47 grains of RE15 and this is looking like a good load also.

I've always been a proponent of heavy-for-caliber bullets vs the light-and-fast obsession. I'd bet the 175gr in that 7mm will give you excellent service and maximize it's big-game capabilities. Assuming it's of sturdy construction you'll get fantastic penetration with the high sectional density of that bullet. Some Sierra bullets are known to be a little too lightly constructed, but in reality with the animals you mention as your primary targets, this should not be an issue.
