Have you ever bought anything as the end all to all of your worries to find out it is way more trouble then it is worth, kicking yourself anytime you think about it?

I can personally think of a $3,500 custom 1911 officers model, 7 STW and a bunch of assecories such as sights that all seemed like a better idea when I bought them.

I hear you about the 7mmSTW....had a custom rifle built and it shot like a house on fire but boy were the velocities are dissapointment...think you really need a 27" or longer barrel for that baby.

I got one of Midway's 20X spotting scopes for ~$27, figuring what have I got to loose? Answer, $27! It is easier to see a target with my 8X binos.

Part of the neverending re-education of optics, you don't get something for nothing, and oftentimes you get nothing for something.
