Can I safely load a .44 Mag case using .44 Spl data. I plink with my Univresal Vulcan .44 but factory loads are getting hard on the shoulder. I understand the theory about the potential danger there is when you under load a cartridge .

Look for "Cowboy Action" loads on the Hodgdon web site for safe light loads for the 44 Magnum. Don't just use 44 Special load data as the extra space in the 44 Magnum case could lead to mis-fires etc.
