Let's talk powders. 416 Rigby. Most seem to be using H4831. I have too many powders now and don't want to buy more. I have IMR 4350, Varget, Re 15, Re22, Re 25, bl-c2, IMR 4064, Maybe some others. I will load some 350's and some 400's. Loads? Thanks "D"

D, I know what you mean about people here using H4831. Now I have to try that powder! So far I've tried IMR 4350 and IMR 4831 with 350s and 400s. What I have found so far in my rifles is that I seem to get a tad better accuracy from the IMR4350 of the two. Certainly very good loads. I have some Varget and BL-c2 on hand also, but don't really know where to start or stop with those. Really, with how this IMR 4350 is performing, I think I might be finished with load development. (now if I only had the bullet choices finalized.) Best to you, Bill

I've never used IMR4350 but a friend used H4350 and gets good results. I use IMR4831(96grs) and that is my everyday hunting load, very accurate and delivers 2400fps. Have tried R22 and it works well. Think I would pass on the Varget as it's likely a bit too fast on burn rate, ditto 4064.

Bill I know what you mean. Let me know what you come up with when you decide on the bullet. I guess I will have to come up with a practice load and then a soft solid combo. Got to go. "D"

I've had excellent results with IMR 4350. I use 90.2 gr and it duplicates the original factory specs of 2350 fps. H-4831 works well also, particularly if you want to bump up the velocity. Accuracy for me is right at 1" with 400gr Swift A Frames and Hornady solids. Let us know how you make out! jorge
