I've used them for practice in several .30's. No problems, usually less than 1.25@100. It's been years since I shot game with them.

Your track on practice for the price isn't wrong, but I'd say the particular rifle doesn't like them.

My observation as well. I always thought it was the best standard type factory bullet and actually kind of a premium bullet in its own right.

I agree, and think the new bonded-core version will be a real winner! Definitely worth trying!!
