I'm looking for a source for soft lead (softer than hard cast, anyway) heavy .45-70 bullets. I'm trying to develop super light loads, and the hard cast ones have a tendency to stick in the barrel. I'd prefer bullets above 420 gr., preferably 500 gr.

Anyone got a recommendation for me? I'd appreciate it.

Try Mid-Kansas Cast Bullet . They advertise softer (BHN 12 instead of 16) "Cowboy Action Alloy" bullets used for the Cowboy Action Shooting games. Bullets for the 45/70 include 300, 350, 405, 450, 480 and 500 grain designs.
