Hello new guy here, anyway I would like to know what kind of off the wall loadings people are whipping up for bolt action 7.62x39 rifles.
My rifle is the CZ 527 carbine with the .310 bore I've been having good accuracy results with 125 ballistic Tips and AA1680 but I wonder if there may be another powder that will yeild a bit more velocity.
150 gr sierra SP's .311 DIA shoot very well using RE7 but again 2100 FPS is all I get on a max load.

Hence my wanting to know what some of you guys have been trying.

Or the things they could be changing who do you thinks gonna care

I used a rather compressed load of H335 with the 125 grain BT in a 22" barrel. Ragged hole accuracy at 100 yards was the norm, and pressures were extremely mild. That load was for 100 yards or less, so I wasn't as concerned with velocity as I was with accuracy.

I'm primarily a cast bullet shooter. Most of my shooting is done with Lee C312-155-2R cast of WW+2% and waterquenched. My usual load is 18 grains of WC-820. It'll steadily shoot under an inch at 50 yards.

Almost as accurate and a bit faster is 28 grains of H 322. I also use that load under the Sierra 150 grain .311. Get about 2200 fps with both.

H322 and IMR 4198 work very well also. I also shoot 147 nato bulk fmjs and M2 pulldowns with good accuracy at 100 yards using the same powders.

I don't have a bolt gun in 7.62x39. Mine is a Mini-30. I have tried a bunch of different powders. The fastest powders I have found using a 150gr bullet are H322, H4198 and the fastest and most accurate-Ramshot X-Terminator. It might be tough for you to get much more than 2100fsp out of your 18.5in barrel using the 150's. If you do let us know.

Lots of good information here already, but my faorite is the AA1680 and the 125 BT or even the 150 BT. Accuracy and killing power for the whitetails. Even the Mtn Lion that peeks at you from my Avatar was done in with the 150 grain loading! Baby Sako and 21" of barrel.
