1) Range is located one hour north of the Twin Cities.
2) ONLY Ball & match ammo allowed at the shoot.
3) Targets will be 5x6' NRA 600yd paper targets.
4) The date for the shoot is Sat August 11th, at 8:30am (meet at 8am).
5) There are no benches or chairs at this location, so if you want to shoot on one, bring it yourself.
6) KNOW YOUR 100yd ZERO BEFORE THAT SAT! If you can't hit the target in 5 shots, you'll only need to bring 5 rounds that day because thats all that rifle will be shot.
7) Each shooter 'contributes' $25 for range use, food, and pop (bring your own adult beverage for AFTER the shoot).
Just to make things interesting, I'll have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophy made with a little shooter guy on top and a etched brass plate that says something like "1st Place Border Battle Fun Shoot Aug 11th, 2001" for those with the best 3 group (5rds per group) score. I figure the shoot will last from 8:30-Noon, then we'll shoot for fun, try out different .50's, ect. After the shoot, we'll have a late lunch of BBQ, beer, and BS. Also, Triggerfifty (Dean) might be coming with a brand new .408 Chey-Tac production gun and possibly the Windrunner if his scedule works out.
This is not only just for MN/WI shooters, but if you want to drive further than that I don't care, it's your gas. I just wanted to have a local .50 shoot where we can get to know each other, cap off some rounds, and have some fun. It is intended to be a fun match with production guns and mil-surplus ammo as the norm (I'll have a Serbu & a State Arms). Let me know here or in an e-mail if you are interested.

ps. Packers suck ;-)
I get on the 600-1000yd line at least 2-4 times a month, sometimes up to 8 if I have the time, from 3 to 10 hours a stay. Heck, yorick & I were shooting the 600yd line on Tue. We (you, yorick, others, and me) are in the minority of having a long range facility on hand. This is why it will be a 600yd shoot, so everyone can get on paper and stay in the 36" black circle and probably hit the 6" X ring a few times.
Too many .50 BMG shooter do not shoot enough, let alone at all, this is a shame. Most of the reason for lack of shooting is a lack of a range. I'm trying to get shooters together so they can cap off a few rounds, meet fellow BMG shooters, and get comfortable with their guns. If you have a BMG, I'd enjoy seeing you there. Have a good one.
