I have a .270 that will average about .80 groups after you have fired a couple shots, the first 2 shots will not be where you want them, then after the barrel gets a little warm it really starts to shoot as well as I can. My question is what is causing this, I would know exactly what was wrong if accuracy was going south on a warm barrel but when it is doing the opposite I don't get it.

Is that a cold clean barrel? There is the phenomina of fouling shots. One to fifty rounds to settle in.

I had bought a used m70 in 243win, bull barrel, many years ago. It took about 10 shots to get it to start grouping well. The reason for this was a bore dia. just bigger then .243". When the barrel was dirty the bullet fit was much better. WITH YOUR GUN i would say this is common to most all factory guns. It take a shot or 2 to condition the bore. Make sure all oil/fluid is out of the barrel before firing.
