I need a bit of help. I bought some stuff cause I had to do it. I think or I thought that these are swaging dies and supplies. I can use the item in pic No. 2 to size my .312 cast bullets. I dont know if that is what it was made to do but I forced a unsized cast .314 through it and I got a sized down bullet. I am happy for that It is marked 30/06 on the shaft but It is not for neck sizing. What are the dies in Pic 3" The one with the brass insert which is only 1 in. long plus the threads is .505 dia. The other dies are .470, .500, .516. What are these? Last question I think I know the answer. The cups are .45 bases for swedged bullets correct?

There are no marks on these dies and I am thinking they are not for making bullets. Some of the long dies are smooth on the inside as I would asume a case sizeing die would be, some have toolmarks. Thanks in advance for any grey matter burned up on these questions. JBMauser [Confused]

The die in pic #2 may be a FL die for a Lyman EZ Loader press. If it's marked 30/06 then put it in a press and send a lubed up 06 into it.

Savage99 nailed pic #2, you are right about those being copper cups for swaging bullets, now pic #3. Two dies are basic sizing dies with the decapping assemblies missing. No, sizing dies would not have grooves. If they did, the would cause grooves on your cases. Dies that have scratches (someone didn't clean their brass before sizing) will leave scratches on the case.

Prof242, the sratches are radial as in tool marks made by turning or boreing the opening not from an object entering the shaft vertically. JB
