So in a couple of days I will have 1000 rounds of win 125gr jhp for my .357 and 500 rounds of rem 155gr jhp for my .40. Am looking for any load data. I have been told I could substitute the xtp load data for the .357, can I do the same for the .40 and just make sure my OAL is good?? I have load data for hodgdon powders in one of my manuals but they are using xtps, am I right in assuming as long as the bullets are the same gr you can use the same load data??

Essentially you can...however...

...start low and work up your load. Don't just assume that you can use the data as it is printed. Different bullets have different profiles and bearing surfaces, so you pressures will be different.

Steve is right but as long as you stay away from max. loads, it is pretty safe substituting this or tha brand of bullet as long as the weight is the same.
