mufasa500 Jeffery
I have some of the 500 grain GS custom "ribbed" solids in .510 that I would like to shoot in a 500 Jeffery. If anyone has worked up loads for this bullet I would appreciate the recipes. I put my 535 grain Woodleigh recipe on the "Favorite Load" forum. Thanks. MUFASA

mufasaThanks for your help. I'll have to get the length of the bullets when I get home, but I would like to use Reloader 22 or 25 or Hodgdon 7828 or 4831. I'll be back in touch. MUFASA

jeffeossoMike,
The "best" powders will be
760
4350
4895
h380
rl15
3031
4350
22,25, 7838 are all too slow (too much powder burnt outside the barrel)
more than 15% of the charge is OUTSIDE the barrel.
I'll send you the quickload charts
4831 is pretty good.. high load % and burnt%

lb404mufasa, I have loaded that round. I used Varget. The load was not as accurate in my rifle as the 540gr. FN solid was. I loaded 98 to 105 gr. of Varget and 5 gr. dacron fill. The speeds were between 2325 and 2550 f/s. For my rifle I used RL15 also but Varget was by far more accurate.
