I am about to run out of my favorite 140 gr. Bal Tip load using AA-4350.
Has this powder been replaced with something else? I think it is a little faster burning than IMR or Hodgden and is very clean.

Thanks,

Accurate Arms stills lists AA-4350 on their site and MidwayUSA actually shows it in stock.

As usual just my $.02

go to www.powdervalley.com and see what they will sell you an 8# jug for...

Also, years back I talked to an AA rep, and he told me their powders were one grain slower than the corresponding powders from (then) IMR.

For a long time I shot 59 grains of IMR-4831 in my .270 behind a 130-grain Speer GS. He told me their AA3100 is the same powder, but use 60 grains instead of 59.

You may not want to work w/ a new powder, but H4831sc is about perfect for 140gr bullets in the 280. Even 7828ssc, shoots sub MOA in my 23"bbl & gets me 3000fps+.

I used IMR4350 for years. Then switched to RL19 for my std 280. Gave me higher velocity and groupe the same. In my improved case I go to RL22 as my first choice.

My particular 8# keg of AA-4350 is much slower burning than any H-4350 I have. It appears to be in the vicinity of RL-19 or IMR-4831. I have two rifles that simply love the AA-4350.

Thanks everybody.
I have been out of town a few days in hopes of using the last bit on some lowcountry whitetails. No luck, they've gone nocturnal.

Y'all sent lots of good information which I hope to digest over the weekend.
I have used RL19 in the past and may go back to it. The other powders sound interesting, though.
Lost access to my chronograph which complicates things a little.
