You could use .308 Norma starting loads, and probably use the STARTING load data for H4831 in that caliber, substituting Re 22. Then work up, if necessary.....

Here is why I ask. On my latest bottle purchased of RL-22 it says "the powder of choice for the 7MM RM and 300 WM. So why not the .30-338WM??? It is the same case as the 7MM and darn close to the 300WM.

Yes. Why not use it in your rifle? The .30/338 is pretty much the same as the .308 Norma when it comes to loading data. I use RE 22 in the 7mm Rem. Mag., the 7X57mm with 175-grain bullets, and in the 8X60RS with 200 grain bullets. In the 8X60RS, it keeps pressures very low while producing 2450 FPS with the 200-grain Nosler and 200-grain Speer.

I have one comeing! Soon hopefully. I was planning on using my hoard of Winchester Mag Rifle (ball powder). If not that, I would use Re22, or H4831sc.

Mann,

I have shot the 30-338 for several years and it is THE 30 magnum as far as I am concerned.

I have not used RL 22 because H4831 has done everything you'd ever want a powder to do: velocity, accuracy, and consistency.

I use the accuracy load from the old Lyman manual 71.3gr of 4831 with a 180 grain Partition. This will shoot under .5MOA and be just at 3000fps from my 26inch barrel.

Sorry-I don't have any RL 22 data for you. Kudude
