I just agreed to buy the above noted rifle. Its got a 26 ich tube, I am dreaming about an alberta cut line where I can see forever and the deer are huge. I'll probably use 120-130 grn bullets, have only used hodgon powder in my other rifles. any help would be great.

I used Hornady's 129 grain interlock with RL22 at about 3,300'/sec. Other good powders are IMR 4831 and IMR 7828.

Martin; I have a couple of 264 Win Mags. I prefer the 140 for all game, but the 129 will probably be OK. I would watch on a close shot with that bullet at 264 velocities, since it might not stay in one piece. I have had good luck with H1000 in the 264, but again using the 140's, H5010 has been even better. I am experimenting with Retumbo right now, and it shows promise. I would say H4831 should be fine with the 125/129 grain bullets. Velocities with that 26" tube should be around 3400. Regards, Eagleye.
