Has anyone out there had any experience with the 110 Barnes tipped TSX in .270 Win on antelope size critters? I am thinking of giving it a try. I have the TSX in 140 gr worked up and it performs well. But, I like to try different things and think the 110 might be worth a try. I know there are other good bullets & some will take exception to this choice. I am looking for input from some who have had experience with this bullet.

I have not used the 110 grain Barnes Tipped TSX in a 270 Winchester, but have had great success with them when loaded in my 270 WSM.

I shot an antelope a couple of years back with that bullet and it knocked the heck out of that antelope and you sure could hear it when that bullet struck home.

Last fall my buddies and I shot three antelope with the 80 grain Tipped TSX from .257 caliber rifles and they all just dropped in their tracks.

I have not used the Barnes 110 bullets but I did try the 110 VMAX in my .270 and really had problems with accuracy. Finally just gave up on that light of a bullet in my .270. Doesn't really address your question exactly but I would be curious if you do end up trying these light bullets if you have success with accuracy.

I load the 110 Barnes in my dads kimber 270wsm. I use a max charge of RL-19 and get it up to book velocities. Over the past several years he has prbably shot 30+ deer with them and 10+ pigs. The only animal to get away after being hit was a coyote (bad hit?)! I can't recommend them highly enough. It truely makes the 270 a point and shoot rifle. With all that meat on the ground still no recoverd bullets. He's even pulled off two "2-fors", you line two doe up and shoot once and get them both with a single shot.

The 110 gr TTSX has been very successful in the 6.8. Interestingly, the 110 gr VMAX has not been accurate at all in the 6.8.

I used them in my .270 last fall and killed two with them. One I shot deliberately high lung just back of the shoulder at 100 yards. No indication of the hit, the deer ran 50 yards and piled up dead. The second, 263 yards high shoulder. The onside balde had a fist sized hole in it, the it took four ribs, a fist size chunk of spine, two ribs and then a quarter sized hole in the off side blade. The holes in the hide were both caliber sized.

The 110s are extremely accurate in my rifle (700 stainless). I got that accuracy with H4350 at 3170 FPS.
