Anybody use the Winchester WSF powder in anything besides shotshells and 40SW and 45 auto? That seems to be the extent of the data I have. Neighbor gave me a couple pounds and looking for something to use it in. Maybe something along the 357 or 41 line if possible. Thanks. Society of Intolerant Old Men. Rifle Slut Division.

It is the best thing since sliced bread for 40 S&W with lighter bullets. It'll push 135 gr Noslers to velocities that are simply astonishing. I use it in 9mm as well. I suspect it would work out fine in 38 special but I don't see it as a 41 Mag propellant. Mike -------------- DRSS, Womper's Club, NRA Life Member/Charter Member NRA Golden Eagles ... Looked up the relative burn rate of WSF. It is slightly slower than Herco and faster than Accurate #5. I have used accurate #5 with 210 gr cast projectiles and it yields medium velocities. Therefore I suspect WSF is going to achieve lower velocities than does #5. WSF is not likely to be particularly suited to higher velocity loads in 41Mag. Mark ive looke in the Winchester reloading manual and the use for WSF is for the 38 Super, 357 Sig, 9MM, 40S&W, 10MM, 45 ACP. All of my orther reloading manuals sow the same thing. It may becasue of its burn rate, and it wont perform well in a .357 or 41 may take to much and pressure celin will be reach before the velocitys are reached
