Does anyone have a few loads with different powders for a 30-06 Hornady GMX 150 grain bullet?
Thank you for your time.

I used 56 gr of W760. It was a mild load that went a bit under 2900fps.

I killed a cow elk with it. Complete penetration on a broadside shot a +-100 yards. Nice exit wound. She ran 25 yards and fell dead.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

Jason:
Thank you for the information. I am glad you got a cow elk. I used to do Elk and Deer hunts in Hamilton , Colorado. I really loved it.

52.2 grains 4064 has worked well for me using 150 grain bullets in 30-06. For years I heard 4350 was THE powder for that rig, but 4064 does a better job in mine. Couple moose, caribou, pronghorn and a bunch of whitetails.
