Dennis, Go over to 6mmbr.com. Like AR, an excellent site. They have a whole section devoted to various cartridges, mostly BR, the 308 being one of them.

Sorry, can't help on the Bergers, but for the Sierra 155 Palma bullets, my load for quite sometime was Lapua Brass, Fed 210M, trimmed to 2.005, 46.2grs of 4064, and seated to .003-.005" off of the lands and grooves. Barrel is Krieger 12 twist, 30" medium Palma contour and muzzle velocity just under 3000fps. Terminal velocity w/ this set up @ 1000yds over the 1200fps mark for stability's sake.
Not familiar with your barrel, throat, condition, etc., but seating may vary for you and your rifle?? Can say that if you are referring to VLD bullets, I am told they are normally seated very near the lands and grooves if not actually slightly in the lands and grooves. Again, if it is not Sierra, I don't shoot them, but that is just me. Old habits hard to change you know.

Sierra just officially announced a new 155 grain Palma bullet with a significantly different ogive. B.C. is increased. Talk to their techs after the show to get some starting points for loads.

Berger now has a 155.5 grain Palma bullet. Again, after the show ask Bryan Litz for a recommended starting load(s).

The (Palma) race seems to be heating up.

These new bullets "MAY" do better with a 1:13" twist rate for the barrel. ASK THE EXPERTS at Sierra and Berger; I donnot know diddly.

Walt Berger sent the following on the 155.5's after advising me to use them in my gun. He will talk to you or email you with information. I was impressed!

The 155.5 LRBTHP bullet is a target bullet and should not be used as a hunting bullet as it will fragment on impact resulting in a wounded animal resulting in an animal you might not find.

Went shooting yesterday! Using Berger 155.5, 168, 175, and 190. The 168 and 190 were tack drivers, the other two were good!

Used nothing but Varget and CCI primers, all set on the lands this time! I am very happy! Will post pic's as soon as I get them ready.
