Hodgdon 870 is an old standby with 140 grain bullets. Start with about 70 grains. I really like surplus WC 872, however. It is somewhat slower than h-870 and can really get the .264 moving. H4831 and IMR 7828 will do for 120 grain bullets and below, but are really a bit too fast for best performance with 140's. I haven't tried the new Hodgdon Retumbo or Viht. N170, but they should work also. 140 grain Nosler Partitions propelled by a compressed charge of WC 872 @ 3150 FPS is the only load I bother to use in my .264 these days.

73.0 grains of H-870 and the Sierra 140 HPBT bullet with Winchester brass and WLR primer. Sub 1" groups, 5-shots at 200-yards. Clocks around 3132 fps.

Thank you for the replies, loading data for the .264,unlike the 30.06 or the .338,is either old or lean.( except Steve's pages )Thank you Stonecreek, burn rates in a overbore,I guess, are quite important. The other problem is bullets, reliable expansion without blowing up,without breaking the bank.

For an accuracy load, go with 60 grains of IMR4831 and any 120-129 grain bullet. They all shoot .5" or less from my 264.
