Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. Wisdom comes with age! Sometimes age comes alone..

Someone told me that if a 30-30 won't shoot well, H4350 will make it shoot accurately (but with lower muzzle velocity).

3031 works well. Easy to remember the load. 30gr for 170s, 31 for 150s.

30.5 grains of IMR-4895, 170 grain Nosler Partitions, and Federal 210 primers shoot very well in two family 30-30's.

IMR 4895 works great for me but I hate to waste good powder on a 30-30 sofa

A 30-30 lever gun can be more fun that should be allowed. 113 grain cast soup cans and a little bit of powder, a set of ghost ring sites and a sling. Or 3031 and a 150 gr core loc. my 2 cents. rc

A wide variety of "medium" burning rate powders are well-adapted. I happen to use WC-846 (same spec as BL-C2 and WW-748) in mine simply because I've got plenty of it. It works fine, but no better than anything similar -- 4895, 4064, N-135, or a host of others.
