Just had a couple boxes of these delivered yesterday. Anyone have any experience with them in a .300 H&H? I am thinking of starting load development with RL-19 and IMR 4831.

I didn't get any responses on this so maybe I'm one of the few or the first using the 168gr TSX in a 300 H&H.

Anyway, I fired this group yesterday. 3 shots at 100 yards from my Model 70 .300 H&H using the 168gr TSX over 69.0gr RL-19. This load had shown promise in my initial testing of RL-19 and IMR 4831 so I loaded up some more Friday night and headed out to the range yesterday. I think I've found my load.

I have found IMR4831 to be a great powder in the 300H&H. My old M70 will shoot into 2ins. at 200yds. with the 165gr. Speer. Velocity starts at almost 3200fps. Your load with the TSX should be a sweetheart for both deer and elk.
I have alot of respect for the old H&H.

I don't have a .300 H&H, so I'm not much help in that respect. But I have had equivalent results from the 168 grs .308 cal TSX in my .300 Win Mag. Aamazingly accurate for a hunting bullet!

I use H4831 in mine, but I've not shot a group like that. Maybe I'll try the IMR version.

Bob,

OAL was 3.6" and I used CCI 250 Magnum primers and Remington brass. The rifle is a wood stocked Winchester M70 push feed that I have owned since 1991, bought new. It has always been very accurate, especially with IMR4831, but with these Triple Shocks and Reloader-19 it is unbelievable. The worst group that I have shot with this load is less than 1/2" and most have been with 2 in the same hole and the third shot maybe a 1/4" or less away. I guess I got lucky and everything came together with this group.

Buckeyeshooter,

IMR 4831 shoots great in my rifle but I shot this group with Reloder-19, it seems to work even better. The Reloder powders seem to really sing with the TSX bullets. Reloder-15 with 270gr TSXs in my .375s shoots into 1/2" consistently.
