After about a decade long hiatis, I am about to get back into shooting my hand guns. To make this a monthly or bi-monthly activity, I will of cource have to also reload for them as well. As I have more than enough primers, brass, and powder for a serious start, all I need to begin is a equal no# of bullets. I have been pricing them from as many web sites as I can find, but my concern is this: Has shipping and handeling cost become so large now that buying them OTC from say Cabelas (but NEVER from BPS)a cheaper alternative VS MO? So what I need to know is who at the moment has the best prices on FMJ bullets for .45ACP, .40S&W, .38/.357, and even 9mm. I listed the calibers as I am not sure if MO stores tends to have the best price on a spacific caliber, VS all. From my limited resurch it seams the FMJ bullets made by Berry's or Rainier are the cheapest. I am looking to buy at a minimum of 500 each per caliber, 1000 if price makes more sence finacially to do so. As we all know bullets are heavy so S&H charges reflect this fact painfully so. All input is greatly appreciated. Enjoy your 4th and take a moment to say thanks to God for those in uniform who gave their lives and sometimes more so we can selabrate this day as free Americans. I buy from Midway. They have always seemed reasonable to me. "We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately." Benjamin Franklin, July 4 1776 Lost once in the shuffle, member since 2000.

Until the end of today, July 4, Cabellas has a flat shipping charge of fifty cents if the order is greater than $150. I just bought some brass and bullets. Oxon

Art, www.grafs.com will waive a $4 handling fee on orders over $75 and their shipping is free. Also their prices are usually pretty competitive. Dennis Life member NRA

Shipping is outragous when one buys a very little amount..... Order a lot and the cost per bullet goes way down... /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Hey Art, For me, it varies from time to time on where to find the best deal. I usually buy Bullets at local Gun Shows, but occasionally I'll spot a Bargain On-Line. The trick (for me) is to know when the $$$Price$$$ is Right. I agree the Berry and Rainier Bullet $$$Prices$$$ do look pretty good, but it also depends on how well they shoot. Some firearms like them and some do better with others. If you go with them, they may be just what you want. But, I like to compare them to a Bullet I know shoots well for me. For example, I have some Cheap PLHP Bullets which shoot nearly as well for me as Match Grade Bullets, so I use the Cheaper ones 95% of the time. And I've seen just the opposite too, sometimes even the Expensive ones just don't shoot well, and that is reallllllly aggravating. I agree with Vapo to buy a Large quantity to hold down the cost - but only if you know they meet your requirements. Best of luck to you.

I have used Berry's and Rainier in every caliber that you specify. I prefer Rainier. The copper seems to be a bit harder. I generally buy from Midway. I regularly check their web page for sales. I also check the Berry's site for their sales. If I'm not mistaken Berry's has free shipping on orders over $100. I use Hornady 200gr Hydra-Shock for my 45ACP bedside pistol. I find that the Rainier 200gr HP shoots to the POI. GOOD LUCK and GOOD SHOOTING!!! IF YOU'RE GONNA GET OLD,YOU BETTER BE TOUGH!! GETTIN' OLD AIN'T FOR SISSIES!!

I buy the majority of my bullets from Grafs. They have a flat rate. Other sites often don't increase their rates as you increase the number of bullets. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

art alot of times the more you buy the cheaper they are. my last purchase was from montana gold. i ordered a case of 9mm bullets (4000 pcs) and i think they worked out to about $75/1,000. thats about the cheapest i have found and these are quality fmj not plated bullets. ive also shot both berry's and reiner's and they have been fine but the last time i ordered it was cheaper to go the fmj route. af few places to check i can't remember all of the web addressess off hand but if you google them you will come up with their sites montana gold zero bullets precision delta then of course all of the normal places like grafs, midway, natchez shooters supply, midsouth shooters supply, check them all. also don't be afraid of ordering a whole case to get the price break. i saved enough per 1k to get more than the 1k i planned to buy. i bought them and broke them up and sold what i needed to get some of my money back out of them. i was able to sell off the excess within one week on local forums.

You might also consider Zero Jacketed bullets. They are sold by Roze Dist Zero Bullets . Though you have to buy 1000 at a time, but it appears that they don't charge for shipping. I have bought zero bullets before, but i bought them through a retailer so I did have to pay for the shipping. Think the total was $137 for 1000 230gr JHP .451" bullets. Was way cheaper than anything else I could find.

+1 Love Grafs and they lower the price depending on the number of units you buy.
