I have tried extrapolating with 'Pointblank' and 'Lee Shooter' the trajectory of a recent .222 load, but must have had a mind blank. The load with 40gr Vmax at 2950fps is 0.7" low at 100yd. However, when various zero distances are put into the ballistics calculator I can't find the zero distance when the load has a -0.7" POI at 100yd. Any suggestions? (helpful! ) Regards.. ..Titan

I'm trying to be helpful with this inquiry. What or who is saying the load is 0.7" low at 100 yards? You learn something new everyday whether you want to or not.

The group was fired at 100yds and POI measured 0.7" low from POA.

Assuming a sight height of 1.5", RCBS-Load shows your max height occurs at 68yd and is .45 below your line of sight. IOW you don't have a "zero" distance to calculate. Now if you adjust your elevation up 1.75" (14 clicks if you have a 1/8MOA click) you will be +/- 1" out to 186yd

Tailgunner.. Thank you. Did RCBS-Load indicate the distance where POA and POI coincide? Regards.. ...Titan

With your current settings, they NEVER cross. The closest they come is at 68yd (see above). Now if your refering to the settings I suggested (1" high at 100yd), than you will cross zero at 40yd, and again at 160yd.
