Anyone out there have any experience with this combo with a long cylinder where you can load to the lowest crimping groove?
Velocities?
Performance on game?

I tried W-680 From 19.9 grains to 22.5 grains with CCI-350 primers.

Wasn't too impressed.

Also tried the Hornady 265's...they weren't impressive either.

Surely someone else has tried this combination and has some info including accuracy and velocity information.
Seems especially useful in a fixed breech gun with a longer barrel like a Contender or Encore.

Throw that 680 crap out the door and get some H4227, you'll only get about 1300fps from 26grs. of WC680, load up from 22 to about 24grs. of the H4227, while watching for pressure signs, you'll get better accuracy, more velocity and a cleaner gun, or up to 25grs. of 296 for a bit more velocity(1387fps from 7.5" barrel) but a bit less accuracy, Jay

PS. I hope you have a Redding Profile Crimp die for that 44Mag.
