My very first dedicated varmint gun is on the way in 22-250. If you have a load that seems inherently accurate with either 40 or 50 grain bullets I would appreciate it if you would share. I have brass, dies, bullets, etc. on the way as well and would like to sight it in with something I know is a relatively proven load for the caliber. Thanks for any help you can offer.

50 gr. Nosler Balistic Tip, seat to the lands if possible in front of 39 gr. accurate ( or other) 4350. I use Fed. Win. and Rem. cases and it doesn't seem to make a whole lot of difference. I've had good results with most primers but the lot of WLR primers I am now using are not very tight. After you get your feet wet find SeafireB17G's Thread on Blue Dot in the 22-250. His thinking has a lot of merit. roger

If you really want a classic load, try a 55 grain spitzer plus around 38 grains of H-380 with a hot primer (winchester standard or somebody else's magnum). You should start a little lower than that, but most people work up in 0.5 grain steps and end up right about there, everything else being OK. Geo.
