Hopefully someone gets you some feed back soon because all I have gotten in return about my .300 Win mag with the 180gr. TSX is that, "if you can't get the TSX to shoot in your gun either you have no idea what you are doing with reloading or someone upstairs doesn't like you," jokingly of course.

So, it looks like blue skys ahead for the TSX fans.

Good luck reloading and shooting.

I've been disappointed with TSX in my .300 RUM. Unlike virtually all of my other rifles (ranging from .260 to .416), in which loads with TSX are the most consistently accurate, I cannot get any TSX from 150-180 gr to shoot worth beans. This rifle does VERY GOOD with 180 gr SAF or 200 gr North Forks, so it is neither me nor the rifle. I think it is because the cartridge is relatively too long for the magazine, and the TSX (being long for weight) cannot be seated far out enough to hit the "sweet spot" for accuracy. I did get 165 gr TSX with RL 25 to shoot extremely well, but the bullets were seated too far out to cycle thru the magazine. Thus, they work good if I were willing to use them as a single-shot.
Its too bad, I think the TSX have great terminal performance, and would be great for long-range elk and mountain game (sheep and goats). The North Forks worked good in Zim, but they're so blunt I'm bothered about using them for long range sniping. I've yet to try, but will soon, the 200 gr TSX- maybe I'll get lucky.

Correction: the TSX that did work, albeit when seated too far out to feed, was the 168 gr. Maybe the throat on this rifle is too "deep". The TSX seem to work best for me when they're seated just like Barnes recommends.

Just ordered a box of 180 gr. and 200 gr. TSX's, i can only load my 300 to 3.700" in my SAKO, which leave's it a long way from the land's.(due to magazine length) Thought i would give the Barnes a try , even though my rifle shoot's accu-bond's pretty good. There is just something about nylon tip bullet's that doe's not sit well with me.(replacing lead or copper) I bought this gun strictlly for moose , but have not got the opertunity to try it yet on moose, however i did get to try it on a 7 point whitetail last year,(I know BIG TIME overkill)i had spined the buck and the Accu-bond's (180gr.)seemed to disintegrate upon impact, what a mess, make's me wonder how these bullet's would fair on moose, kind'a make's me think the 300 rum. is to fast for accu-bond's.: Rick.

I just bought some 200 grain tsx and hope to try them this weekend in my 300 RUM. I'm going be making up the rounds in the next couple days. Being this bullet is longer than others, I'm debating on the powder charge to start with.

Let us know how you do with your load's. I have to wait another week for my TSX's, ordered mine from Alberta. I'll be using RL 25 powder and FED.215 primer.Barnes say's you have to start with X loads and work your way up, as they don't have any data on the TSX as yet.: Rick.

I have had exceptional accuracy with the 180 grain TXS in my 300 RUM I have two loads and
both use Federal brass and Federal 215 primers 1} 99.5 grains of Retumbo COL is 3.6" gives 3426 fps and shoots under.5 MOA 2} same brass and primer powder is 115 grains of WC-872 COL is 3.6" and velocity is 3375 fps and outstanding accuracy My rifle is a model 70 classic with a 27 1/2" Krieger barrel and 3.6" is as long as will function through the magazine

Went out and shot some 200grn barnes tsx this past weekend - finally.

My first loads were 90grn RL25 3.6" COL. Three shots within 1" and a flyer.

Second, 92grn RL25 3.6" COL - all over the target with heavy bolt lift experienced.

I am using the 180gr tsx in both of my 300ultramags.Using r-25,215 primers and remington cases results in 3360fps to 3380fps and groups averaging under 3/4" in both rifles.
