just loaded some rounds for his 7-08 SAVAGE 11/111 TROPHY HUNTER COMBO. looking over some old notes i had a new bottle of H-380 Loaded my old load of 46.0 grs with 140 NOSLER BALLSTICS TIPS.
SHOT 0.92 AT 100 YRDS Happy....
I usually load 43.0 IMR-4064 or 43.0 of RL-15 in mine but, that load looks good..

Very nice shooting. Here it is 36 degrees and we only have 4 feet of snow left as it rained all night last night. Now all the rivers will flood, including the Mighty Miss.

Varget works mighty fine in the 7-08 with 140 grain pills also.

Works good in my Encore and works great in the wife's Browning.

48.5 grains of H414 with 120's is my favorite. LOVE 7mm-08!

I have tried H-VARGET and still have some.. but my best accurace load + volosity from RL-15 with WLR primer. but yes you are right, varget is good powder..

My first 7-08 was back when it was still a wildcat. I called Hodgdon for some suggested loads and they recommended H4895 among others.
My results then and with every 7-08 I've had since then has been so good that it is my standard powder for a 7-08. Kinda like 4350 and the 30-06.
