Hi, I've just bought a CZ550 cal 9.3x62 and will reload for the first time that cartridge soon; since I have almost 1 kg of W760 powder laying around, and powders are VERY expensive and difficult to find here, do you believe that it could be a good choice?

Hodgdon has load data on the web site, which shows both H414 and W760 same identical data. I have used H414 in 9.3x62 with good results. I have used both powders, identical loads, in 9.3x74 with excellent results. I am sure H414 and W760 are the same powders, but you don't have to rely on uncertainty when you can access the Hodgdon data on line. Short answer is that W760 is a good powder for the 9.3x62. Between me and a friend, we when through the IMR powders + varget in my 9,3x62 loading a 286 NPT. We found: IMR-4895, 4064 & varget too fast - IMR-4350 too slow. Best was IMR-4320 - That's what I'm using now. Agree w/ Kabluewy - W760 should be good. Also think powders like N560, Big Game or Reloader 15 would be worth a try. ________ Ray

I just went to the Hodgdons IMR website and they show loads for 286 and 300 grain bullets with W760. Do check out the website has plenty of info on it. It does in fact show identical charge weights, velocity and pressure for H414 and W760 telling me they are identical in burn rate. Good luck with yours.
