I am trying to find a load with the 100 Partition or Hornady Interlock. I'm thinking 33 or 34 grains of varget for an ACCURATE load.

Has anyone had any success with this combo ?

I tried Varget but found RL15 to be more accurate with 100gr Partitions. TheVarget loads all shot acceptably well but in the end the RL15 load shot sub-MOA at 200yds.
that load is as follows:
CCI LRP
Remington brass
36gr RL15
100gr Partition
The rifle is a Savage #10 with a 25/06 Savage take-off set back, re-chambered, and cut to 20 1/2".
GOOD LUCK and GOOD SHOOTING!!!

I have just begun to work up some loads for 100gr. bullets for my 250 Sav. Have been using H-4895 with 87 gr. bullets for some time with good results. My Lyman book says IMR 3031 is the go-to powder for all weight bullets which I thought a little strange since 3031 is somewhat fast. So far the 3031 seems to be pretty good accuracy wise with 100 gr. Rem. Coreloks but have not chronied.
Rifle is a Savage Mod. 16 WeatherWarrior

Well 36 grains of RE-15 worked very well under the 100 Hornady Interlock Spt.. (The Partitions didn't like it though) Groups hover above and below 1" at 100 yards consistantly which is the best yet. I wouldn't want to load any more in it seems close to max.

I've got some 2206H (H4895) and have started trying it with 87's. 34 grains looks promising.

Thx for the help fellas.

IMR 3031 has been my choice with 100 gn. Speer JSP's.
PLENTY good enough for Whitetail out of my old M-99. If I ever get around to having a .250 Savage bolt gun built, I might take on the project of trying to find a better choice, but I'll start with 3031 and go from there.

IMR 3031 (which is like hens teeth down here) is equivilant to our BM2 (Benchmark).

That seems very fast but I seem to remember that speed powder, being recommended in magazine articles.

I'll have to try it too.

Sav 250 I have is in a Ruger International with the 18 inch barrel. My load that I got from another fellow with the same rifle is with the 110gr Accubond and 37gr of IMR 4350 and a Federal 210 primer. This combo in my rifle will put 3 shots into a 5 cent piece at 100 yards. FS

Here's a QL run of what it thinks the powders you want to be looking at are. The reason it says dangerous load on the side bar for a lot of these loads is that the SAAMI standard for the .250 savage seems to be quite low ( around 52Kpsi), probably in deference to old guns still kicking around in that calibre. If you've worked up to 36 grains of RL15 with no problems, you'll probably be alright with the above data as a starting point if you back off, etc.

The run for the ADI stuff looks like:
