Does anyone get top accuracy from there .308's with the 110 gr V-Max Bullets ??

Thinking about these for a cz varmint I want to purchase, wanted the hs stocked one but can't get it to oz without a big premium, so will have to settle for the laminate.

Regards PC.

FWIW the 125 Ballistic tip has worked well for me.....I haven't shot the 110s.

Never dinked with them in a .308 Win.....However....at 3613fps from a 300SAUM SENDERO I'm getting groups in the .1's!!!! Talk about launching a varmint!!!! I loaded them up just for the devilment of it, thinking, "I wonder how bad these will be?" Now 64 grains of VARGET and this bullet is a staple ingredient of the varmint battery!! The other surprise was 63.0 grains of VARGET and the 125 Speer TNT's in the SAUM!!!! It will only get down into the .2's though!!!! I haven't launched a varmint with the TNT's yet but it won't be long into the future!!! They're only traveling 3550 or so!!! Either of these bullets is a "dial and deal" bullet on 20 oz pop bottles at 400 yards so thinking they ought to be right much fun on the real varmints!! GHD

I've tried the 110s in two different 308s. A Sako AII HB, and a Rem 700 LTR. With the Sako I was happily getting sub .5 moa accuracy, using very fast powder. The LTR isn't doing all that well with them at all so far, grouping around the 1 moa mark (plus or minus a bit depending upon the powder). I've yet to try the load the Sako liked, but I may have a chance this coming weekend....

I think it may be safre just to go with the 125 gr Ballistic tips, there bc is much higher .366 V .290 so the hold a little more velocity out at 300 yards than do the 110 gr V-Max. I would like to know how destructive the 110 gr V-Max is though.

I've only used the Sierra HP in 110grs. They're not bad, nothing special. In my short, thin barreled Browning Micro-medallion they come in around .8" (5 at 100yds.). I noted the post above mentioned the Nosler 125gr. Bal. Tip. In my rifle they group .572" quite impressive in this rifle with its 20" barrel. In fact, it shoots the 125gr. bullet more accurately than any other weight. I don't whether to be thrilled at that or not. Best wishes.

Thanks for that folks.....if the heavy .308 comes to fruition (I think it will) then I will use the 125 gr Ballistic tips, it''s all the weight I nedd as I own other rifles with heavyier pills as well.
