I have a Weatherby Mark V Stainless in .338 Winchester Magnum.

I want to build up a load using the 210 grain Barnes TSX Boat Tail. Does anyone have a starting load for this round?

73gr of RL-19 Fed 215 primers and WW brass. I get right at 2925 fps out of a 24" barreled Custom Model 70. jorge

Not a TSX, but I use IMR 4350 with a 210 Nosler Partition. I use 72.5 gr and get 3050 fps from my 26" barrel A-Bolt with .75 MOA accuracy. The burn rate of 4350 and RL19 are pretty close as far as I know.

From the Barnes manual, their top 3 recommended powders for the regular 210gr "X".

Varget
57.5 @ 2625fps to max of 62.5 @ 2853fps

IMR4320
58.5 @ 2615fps to max of 63.5 @ 2838fps

IMR4350
64.0 @ 2682fps to max of 69.0 @ 2892fps

Banes says that you can usualy go 1-2 grain more with the TSX.

Let me know if you have a specific powder in mind and I'll look it up in the Barnes manual.
