Up here in Canada, we're facing a "spotty" supply of primers. Sometimes yes and most times a different brand. So for rifle primers who makes the hottest to "coolest" burning primers?

That chart has been on these forums before...you might want to do a search for it. I'm a wild bull rider and I love my rodeo

Not sure I've ever seen a test of what's "hot" in terms of "power" of primers. Though it might make an interesting experiment to take some of the plastic bullets & cases for indoor pistol practice that use only primers & ream some for large. Do a run through the crony with them to see which has the most "power". I've used all brands commonly available here: Win, CCI, Fed, Rem etc. I can't see a nickel's worth of difference. I don't shoot bench rest guns and might see some difference at that level. I also don't see much difference/advantage in mag primers with medium capacity cases; regardless of powder used. That said, if you change primers in a load that is fairly hot, I'd back off a little on the charge & work it back up, just to be safe. That's my primer philosphy & I'm sticking to it. Been reloading since 1965 and went through all the phases, like everyone will/has . "You can lead a horticulture, ... but you can't make 'er think" Florida Gardener

True, if your climate is of low variance. Up here we can start the season at 20 cel. and finish at -30 or so. With slow burning powder, problems can be found from slow velocities, etc.

Well, I sure don't have much cold weather here in FL . Do you find a big velocity difference in cold with one primer over another? I lived & hunted in CO for awhile but didn't have a chrono back then. Still, I didn't see a noticeable impact point change in the cold.
