Sounds like it's too slow burning.

tu2It certainly isn't the optimum burning for the 22-250 untill you get into some of the heavier bullets, which will soon be tested with the 1:12 twist.A 64 grain bullet at near 3400 fps. clap with better than MOA accuracy from a $ 279.00 rifle ain't all bad.
WinkFor the lighter bullets your comment is valid. beerroger

WXR is a great powder.I find it to be almost the same as Reloader-22.In fact,I use the same charge,so if I run out I've got another powder I can quickly fall back on.It's my favorite for 7mag,7STW,300WSM and 300 Win. Mag.and for the price you find it for these days,it's really hard to beat.

    Hi Roger,

I use a lot of WXR in my .270's and it makes for very accurate loads with 130 and 150 gr. bullets.

It was made at the Bofors plant in Sweden where the ReLoder powders used to be made. I think it is just a different lot of RL-22. So far, the data is interchangable for me. I get a little better accuracy out of it using a magnum primer. Seems that the magnum primer makes for a cleaner powder burn with slower powders.

My 22/250 Stevens 200 is very accurate but that rough barrel sure fouls badly. I have never seen a barrel get so dirty so quick. It still shoots good when dirty and it is starting to smooth up a bit after several hundred rounds.

waveThat's a big 10-4 tu2 The CCI #34 primer from what I hear is magnum designed to reduce slam fires. The proof that it shoots accurately when dirty is what the small clover leaf deminstrats. 40 rounds had preceded that and the rifle was not cleaned at the range.
flameI believe I will next try the WXR in my .358 X .404 IMP, but not very many. beerroger
