Just picked up a rifle in this caliber and would like some recommendations as to which brand of brass to buy.
Thanks

I splash out on Lapua - when I can find any. I don't expect it to be available for long (Lapua has a nasty habit of discontinuing brass lines), so I try to stock up before that happens.

In the past, I have also bought the Graf's headstamped 9.3x62 brass. Rumour has it this brass is manufactured by Privi. I have not reloaded enough of this brass to really form an opinion.

I have reloaded Norma 9.3x62 brass, and it has worked well. Pretty expensive, though.

I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of Prvi brass for 9,3x62. It's uniform, dimensioned correctly and reloads well; so well that I trusted a recent Namibian safari to handloads using it. Highly recommended!

Snowwolfe,

Commented on this on your other thread ... but again, the Graf brass has lasted well enough and is accurate enough that I've stopped buying the expensive stuff.

Seldom seen that kind of quality at that kind of price! I too have taken it to Africa with no reservations whatever.

Grafs it is guys. Will give it a try.
Thanks for the tips. Since I will mainly being using irons on the rifle so pin point accurracy is not a concern. Besides, minute of moose is good enough for me.

Anyone try the Privi bullets being sold by Graf? Great price at $29 per 100 and was thinking of ordering some for practice.

I use grafs also.

As for the PRVI bullets, I havent shot any yet.

I think Milkman works monday and I will give him the box of 285grainers. That way you can try them out without ordering.

A lesson in irony

The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing this year the greatest amount of free Meals and Food Stamps ever, to 46 million people.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us... "Please Do Not Feed the Animals." Their stated reason for the policy is because "The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."

Thus ends today's lesson in irony.

As I've posted before; PRVI 9.3X62 brass may be the longest lasting brass I have ever loaded. The PRVI 9.3 are worth the money but aren't quite as accurate as Hornady and Nosler bullets; they are fine for practice (ie: plinking and blasting).

I bought a supply of Prvi 9.3 285grainers from Grafs a couple of years ago when they were even cheaper. I like them and they really filled a need for an economical bullet in the classic weight for the caliber. Load up the premium bullet of your choice, but the Prvi gives you a good bullet for practice and for more modest size animals like deer and caribou, they would never know the difference.
