I'm lucky enought to have a good supply of Fed 223 brass. It does have crimped primers. For the dollars I'm saving in brass (thousands of pieces)I went and purchased a Dillon swage. reports are it is fast and does the job well.

Before swaging we need to de-prime. I do not have a de-prime only die. Is there a way to set up a FL or NK die to de-prime only?

And ya, I know....Guys spends $100 on a swage tool but wants to save $15 for a de-prime only die! NOT exactly, I plan on ordering one, but didn't want to wait for it to arrive so I figured I'd ask.

Won't you need to resize anyway? I'd try backing my die off and extending the deprimer to see if it is long enough to de-prime without hitting the neck.

As usual just my $.02

There's no reason to deprime only if your brass is reasonably good. Tumble your brass to clean it then size and deprime it. Then tumble it to remove your lube. Trim it, then deswage you primer pocket. Since you have a large amount of brass once you get the swage depth set right you can trim and deswage before removing the lube.

If you want a deprime only Lee makes a good one. There may be a reason some time, really dirty brass picked up in the rain so that when you finally get to using it there is stuff that won't tumble off comes to mind.

I have found that the depriming pins in dies aren't strong enough to hold-up to depriming crimped casings.

One of the products that Lee does make that's strong enough to last is there de-capping die. They also make a hammer-type de-capper that works well for really stubborn cases.

If you plan on using normal dies, make sure the de-capper is always snugged down so it doesn't wobble, and have lots of additional pins available for when they break.
