I read somewhere that polishing the inside of the neck will help with flyers or stringers as they are called. I really need some info to help cut the amount of these pests down. I have a few loads shooting through the same hole or .250-.500 and here comes the pests. Any advice on cutting these wandering pests down. I started weighing my bullets and shooting all the same weight this had helped some.

I'd look into the rifle bedding for an answer too. Don

I think what your refering to is meant to help make neck tension more consistant. Cleaning this a brush helps, and I`ve heard of people useing steel wool to polish the insides also. There is a bit more to it then just polishing the necks. You`ll need to get a tight neck chamber and turn your necks to a even thickness. The less you size them the more consistant they will be. This is one reason behind the Redding bushing sizers that take different sizeing bushings to adjust the amount of tension they are getting on the bullet. As cases become older and the brass hardens you`ll also need to anneal them to keep the brass at a even hardness. There are others here more qualified to discuss this then me and I`m sure one will add to this. ------------------------------------ The trouble with the Internet is that it's replacing masturbation as a leisure activity. ~Patrick Murray "Why shouldn`t truth be stranger then fiction? Blob, I'm sure you saw the thread about run-out. That's where I'm atributing alot of my flyers right now. The loads w/ less run-out produce tighter groups for me, it only makes sense. It's never bothered me while loading for hunting rifles where .75-1" was acceptable to me but, when shooting the paper punchers it definitely matters. Good Luck! Reloader
