Help with IMR 3031

Would this powder be O.K. for the 8X57, if so what loads? I got 200 grain Accubonds and 150 grain Speers.

Hodgdon.com has load date. They show IMR3031 for the lighter bullets in this caliber but not the heavier ones.

something a bit slower would be appropriate.
4064 is a good start.

Well I burn a lot of 3031...

and as far as the 8 x 57, it is just fine..

the 8mm Mauser is really much like a big 223..

powders that work well in the 223, will work best in the 8mm Mauser...

American manuals list slow powders to keep pressures low...

faster velocities are achieved with powders like 3031, H 322 Benchmark or even faster..

I actually use 4198,and RL 7 for bullets of 180 grains and down..

I obtain much better velocity and excellent accuracy, than what is seen published in American reload manuals...and still enjoy excellent brass life...

I consider 3031 and H 322 as about the slowest powders than I think are best for the 8 x 57...
