| I can only answer for the loadings on a Marlin. This of course has a limited pressure of 40000 psi. I can get 2190fps out of a 350gr. Hornady jfp over H4198. I shoot a 405gr. JSP rem. at 1940 with of Rel. 7. Rugers tolerate another 10000psi of pressure which translates into a few more grains of powder |

| The #1 is of course capable of very high pressures . The limiting factor is the case . The 45-70 case is much thinner than the 458 case. The other problem is the bullets ,they are usually designed for the typical 45-70 velocities. The 350 Hornady driven at 1800-2000 would be very potent on swedish moose, I wouldn't drive it any faster. |

| My Hornady 3rd edition lists 2300fps with IMR 3031(59.6) and their 350. They list 1800fps with their 500 and IMR 3031(53.1).
Steve, hows the weather up at the old Glasgow AFB? |

Getting into perfect hunting weather. Temps dropped from the 90's to the 30's, and are now in the 50's.
Wind has been a little tough, and very little rain. |
